Bologna meets Lisbon – the first steps

The Bologna meets Lisbon project is meant to enhance the European employability of Campus Europae movers by providing them with study-related working positions during their stays abroad. The fundamental advantages that the programme envisages are:

  • the universities and faculties will expand and consolidate their network of contacts with companies and employers having an increasingly higher number of its students working in partner companies which will facilitate future strategic collaboration as both partners learn about each others needs, expectations and interests
  • to provide companies and comparable organizations with highly trained and motivated students, eager to make use of their portfolio of aptitudes within the “problem based learning” context that the companies will provide. Moreover their international background is also to add value to the hosting organization, namely from a commercial and technical point of view
  • to strengthen the students learning process without prolonging the duration of studies
  • to improve the students linguistic, cultural and personal adaptation, as well as their financial situation

The first places will be made available for incoming students from all fields of study in early 2007, according to the contract signed on the past 30th of September. The implementation of the project is being coordinated among the following institutions:

  • the University of Hamburg, represented by Prof. Dr. Wilfried Hartmann
  • the Studierendenwerks Hamburg, represented by Dr. Ulrike Pfannes
  • the Arbeit und Leben Hamburg, represented by Dr. Horst Hopmann
  • the Unternehmensvereinigung Nord, represented by Dr. Claus Kemmet
