The Project
Organization
Aims
The European University Foundation - Campus Europae (EUF-CE), with headquarters in Luxembourg, constitutes the parent organization, the "umbrella", of the intended alliance of European universities. The foundation assumes central functions of coordination for the universities. The alliance is set up by cooperation contracts between the foundation and individual universities. A prerequisite for intensive and successful collaboration among the universities is a high degree of individual freedom of action. The participating universities must be able to make the necessary agreements among themselves. For a university to take part in EUF-CE, the institution must undertake appropriate measures in order to satisfy - to the extent permissible under the relevant national legislation - most of the following criteria within a reasonable time:
- capacity to appoint and dismiss staff
- power to conclude contracts
- budget control
- independence of decision-making regarding curricula
- independence of decision-making regarding the structure of the organization
- the right to select students
- the right to collect financing contributions from students
